Privacy Policy

• Account email. If you sign in, we store your email via Supabase Auth to identify your account and tie it to a subscription. We use passwordless sign-in (a 6-digit code emailed to you) — we never see or store a password.
• Message text you choose to translate. When you use auto-translate, God Mode, or the manual 文A button, the text of that message is sent to Google's public translation endpoint (translate.googleapis.com) to get a translation back. We do not store this text on our own servers — translations are cached locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) for performance, not on jaydev.ai's infrastructure.
• Device ID. To enforce one active device per subscription, we store a randomly generated device identifier tied to your account. This is not linked to any other tracking or advertising identifier.
• Subscription status. Payments are processed by Stripe, our merchant of record — we never see or store your card details. We store only the subscription status (active, cancelled, etc.) needed to unlock premium features. Some legacy subscriptions are still billed via Lemon Squeezy, our previous provider, under the same terms.
• Support requests and feedback. If you submit a support ticket, uninstall-feedback form, or waitlist signup, we store what you submitted (message, your email so we can reply, and an optional screenshot for support tickets) so we can respond to you.
• Anonymized daily usage counts. Once a day, the extension reports a small set of numbers tied to your account: how many messages you translated (automatically vs. manually), whether you were in God Mode or Classic mode, and whether you hit the free daily translation limit. This is counts only — never the text of any message, never a chat name, never who you talked to. We use it purely in aggregate, to understand things like average usage or how often the free limit gets hit, so we can make sensible product decisions. It is not sold, shared, or used for advertising.
• Sign-in failures. If your sign-in code fails to send, arrives expired, or is entered incorrectly, we record your email address and the type of failure so we can proactively notice and help — for example, if our email provider is having delivery issues. We never record the code itself, your password (we don't have one), or any message content.

• We don't run third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs of any kind — the only usage data collected is the aggregated counts described above, and it's ours alone, not shared with any ad or analytics network.
• We don't sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
• We don't read your WhatsApp messages outside of the specific text you ask us to translate — and even then, the message text itself is never stored on our servers or included in the usage counts above.
• Error logs generated by the extension stay in your browser's local storage and are never transmitted unless you explicitly attach them to a support request.

• Google Translate — receives the text of messages you choose to translate, per Google's own terms.
• Supabase — hosts our database and authentication; stores account email, device ID, subscription status, and the anonymized usage counts described above.
• Stripe — processes payments as our merchant of record for new subscriptions; handles your card details and, in many countries, VAT/GST directly, not us. Some existing subscriptions are still billed via Lemon Squeezy, our previous payment provider.
• Vercel — hosts this website.

We use the data above only to provide and improve Language Translator for WhatsApp's single purpose — translating WhatsApp Web messages — and to operate your account and subscription. In plain terms:

• We do not sell your data, and we do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to provide a feature you use (for example, sending message text to Google Translate to translate it) or where required by law.
• We do notuse or transfer your data for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose.
• We do not use or transfer your data for personalized advertising, to build advertising profiles, or to determine creditworthiness or for any lending purpose.
• No human reads your message text. It is sent to the translation service and the translation is returned to you; the text is never stored on our servers and never included in the usage counts described above.

Our collection, use, and transfer of information received through the Language Translator for WhatsApp Chrome extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We only collect and use the data strictly needed to deliver the features you use, as described on this page.

• Account email, device ID, and subscription status are kept while your account exists. Email us to delete them at any time.
• Support messages and feedback are kept as long as needed to resolve and reference your request.
• Anonymized usage counts are aggregate numbers only and cannot identify individual messages or contacts.
• Cached translations, settings, and error logs live only in your browser and are removed when you uninstall the extension or clear your browser storage.

You can sign out at any time from the extension popup, which clears your local session. To delete your account and associated data entirely, email j@jaydev.ai and we'll remove it. Uninstalling the extension removes all local settings and cached translations from your browser.
